There's definitely something about the sound of the ocean and the feeling of sand between your toes. Imagine those sounds and feelings in your wedding dress, walking up the aisle. It's everything we love about the boho wedding.. And it's everything I love about this wedding.
David and Becky knew they wanted to marry on the beach, from the get go. The Bournemouth Beach setting perfectly reflected their super relaxed characters, and their incredibly chilled out approach. Plenty of attention to detail, but nothing which would detract from the beautiful beach backdrop.
They were quite simply, the sweetest pair.
We did a pre-wedding shoot last year; a way to warm up to the big day and get them comfortable with the camera. Their photos came out sweet, giggly and entirely loving- just like them. Spending time with them both, and working with them for their wedding was always a pleasure. I was continually bowled over and delighted at how laid back Becky was, whilst being entirely sure what she wanted. A breath of fresh 'sea' air.
Bride-to-be-goals right there.
There were many gorgeous moments throughout the day, but the loveliest were when the couple would sidle off for a moment on their own to the beach; be it sat on the classic blue and white deck chairs,
or sitting by the water with their toes in the sand.
The water was literally a few steps away from he doorway to their marquee, and they both seemed drawn to the quiet and beauty of the sea. And for good reason.. it's gorgeous. It's a simple, natural and stripped back setting; a stunning backdrop;
a flawless and muted set of brushstrokes across the lens- blue grey, off white yellow, green blue.. gorgeous.
Of course, their key colour was used to highlight all of this perfectly.
Dave and Becky were loveliest when they were laughing together, and they did this a lot.
They also cried together, and held hands when emotional moments became overwhelming. They seemed genuinely connected, and I can only hope that these photographs prove that.
I always have, and always will, shoot for the bride and groom- nobody and nothing else matter.
But sharing these moments with their friends and family through the blog means an awful lot to me.
Every person who comes up to me at a wedding, and remarks with a tear in their eye, that they love how I work and what I do, is a part of the process. Thank you to each of you, it continues to push me forward.
Congratulations to David and Becky. I hope these photos go someway to expressing what you have.. It's awesome.
Thanks to all at Beach Weddings Bournemouth, and the suppliers who contributed, for such a gorgeous day. More weddings like this please! I could get used to shooting barefoot in the sand...
