Hello and Monday greetings to you all... As promised, I have slaved away overnight to bring you a sneak peek post of Kristian & Tess' Wedding. This is just a small selection and not the entire album.. that is to come. Please feel free to share this on facebook so that everyone who was there, gets a look-see.
Greeted by a cloudy but bright day, I stepped out onto St John's Square. The streets of Farringdon were quiet as usual on a Saturday, and everything seemed still and calm.. I took a little time to sit and drink a very large cup of tea (a ritual wherever and whenever I need to think and prepare) and then in true British style.. headed straight to the pub.
Telling the story of any day is important to me, and therefore organising the logistics of seeing the grooms party before the ceremony is key. We crowded the upstairs room of The Crown and whilst they drank wine and chatted with the grooms parents, I snapped away. Once I got to the hotel room where the girls were getting ready, everyone still seemed super chilled. The photos I got here were mainly of giggles and hugs, and it was so warming to see it all before the seriousness of the wedding.
The ceremony was held at The Order of St John; an historic and stunning building within spitting distance of the hotel and the pub. It was a very intimate gathering of only their closest friends and family, and this created the loveliest atmosphere. The ceremony itself was, much like the lead up to it, full of smiles and laughs. Tess looked beautiful in the light which dappled through the stain glass window.
Sneaking the bride and groom off for their couple shots was great fun.. As it was a Farringdon wedding, and these guys are architects, I thought it only right to get a sense of the place in their photos. Hence the alleyway shot.. the dark brick and the light well half way up the alleyway was utter magic- and the perfect place for them to get a little private moment and breather. They had already both admitted to me that the weren't entirely comfortable in front of the camera, but you can see in these pics, they were more than fine. Their chemistry was adorable and a dream to photograph.. you had no reason to worry guys!
I wish you both all the very best, and am sure you are already enjoying your honeymoon! It was an utter pleasure to work so closely with you on such an awesome beautiful day....
