Not only is a hen party abound with
happy laughing faces (which are the always the most beautiful)
but it's also a brilliant way to get to know a bride before the big day.. So much of the time, there is a serious edge to what I do.. so the opportunity to capture absolute fun and abandon, is always welcomed.
Let's face it, in the last few years, the Hen Party has come to rival the Stag one. It's no longer a recreation of the 'Sandra-Dee' scene from Grease; girls with rollers in their hair, painting their nails between giggles and pillow fights.. It's become just as celebratory and raucous as any stag party might be..
But with a huge added dose of tongue-in-cheek.
Photographed here, is a good example of just such an occasion. Though peppered with the usual male anatomical imagery, this evening retained a lot of class; feather boas, corsets and cocktails served in Martini glasses. Laughter and chatter crossed the tables at The Den, Meribel- it swung from cheeky to classy so much it was hard to pick a side; "these macaroons are to die for" was shortly followed by "my willy straw won't work"..
There's something very uninhabited yet mature about it all. This photographic edit is obviously censored.. The bride-to-be has the full incriminating set. But never have I laughed so hard from behind my camera in one shoot. To the ladies of Meribel, and especially the bride-to-be.. Thanks for an awesome weekend and season, and see you back in the mountains in July!
