This week the blog follows Andrew and Beatrice's wedding. Starting today with their pre-wedding shoot, and continuing tomorrow with their stunning SOmerset wedding. Believe it or not, this is what pre-wedding jitters look like! We took these shots only the day before their wedding.. Friends and family, including the couple themselves, all travelled across the globe for this celebration- hence the title!
Having travelled all the way from Australia, Andrew and Beatrice opted to shoot their pre-wed photos the day before the wedding. With the wedding reception being set up in the garden of the family home, they welcomed a little time to get away from the buzz, and be together. As with most couples, they told me they were not used to having their photo taken.. but look at them together! It's like I always say,, you just need to get to a place where you are comfortable enough to just be yourselves- together, and in front of a camera- easy peasy ;)
Until tomorrow, I'll hand over to the gorgeous couple themselves, with the usual Nearly-Wed Q & A. I particularly like the way they talk about their first meeting!
QUICK NEARLY-WED Q & A:
DO YOU REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME YOU SAW EACH OTHER?
A: The first time I saw Bea was in a tacky 90s bar on Fulham high street. I was out with some mates and feeling a little worse for wear. However, my confidence was at an all time high and I plucked up the courage to start talking to this beautiful lady who was dancing near us. Remarkably, she talked back!
B: Andrew got the meeting part pretty spot on, we met at the Elk bar in Fulham, a place full of antipodeans and the mandatory sticky dance floor. While all of our friends doubted that it was possible to find love in a London bar, it didn't take us long to prove them wrong!
WHEN DID YOU FIRST KNOW YOU WANTED TO MARRY THEM?
A: I first knew I wanted to marry her after she first played the piano to me. To this day, life simply doesn't get better than that.
B: I knew I wanted to marry Andrew for a long time, but moving to Sydney together a couple of years ago was an extra special life challenge that we took together and our relationship strengthened so much in that time, I'm glad we waited that little bit longer.
HOW DID THEY PROPOSE?
B: We have a special spot on the cliffs in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney, overlooking the sea - we have spotted pods of dolphins and migrating whales from our spot, pretty amazing! It was perfect for Andrew to propose there, it is so peaceful and beautiful.
HOW DID YOU REACT?
B: We were both so happy when I said yes, a sentiment that has carried on through all of our engagement and most of all, our wedding day.
WHAT DO YOU THINK MAKES YOU WORK SO WELL AS A COUPLE?
A: We work so well as a couple because we challenge each other. We see through all of the walls, break them down and make each other into better people
B: Totally agree with Andrew's thoughts on what makes us work so well, it's actually really lovely to read!
This practice session went no end to easing the couple into their couple shots on the wedding day. Wait until you see their wedding shots at sunset, on the blog tomorrow! Be sure to come back and see what this practice was all about...
