For our third and last couple session of the week, we join the whole family. After all, getting married when you have children, means you're all part of the wedding. We make time for couple photos, but also involve their two awesome boys, Harvey and Joseph. I even got Harvey to take a couple of photos of his parents, and have included them at the end of the post! Not bad work little man! Call me in a few years and you'll have a job ;)
Family shoots are pretty full on- ask any photographer. The dynamic is entirely different to any other shoot; chaotic, exaggerated, slightly desperate and entirely focussed on trying to get the kids to look in the right direction. I am jumping around like a crazed children's presenter (as is anyone else helping being the camera). But when I'm working with a couple, I am quietly moving around and directing, creating an atmosphere. So me launching toys over my camera and playing peek-a-boo from around cars, is not exactly the romantic couple-shoot rehearsal before a wedding, right? But it's possible to do both.. No, it really is. With the help of an awesome mother or friend, of course, to whisk the kids off when they start to grumble!
You'll see here with these guys, we got gorgeous shots of both the whole family, and just Dan & Abby. Once again, rather than bore you with my own ramblings for the third time this week, I'll pass you onto the couple and their adorable Nearly-Wed Q & A... The proposal is seriously cute!! Major kudos points Dan!
QUICK NEARLY-WED Q & A:
Do you remember the first time you saw each other?
A: We don't remember the exact time,we were both a little merry but we met at a Barn Boogie, 7 years ago. (A local music event)
When did you first know you wanted to marry them?
D: For me it was about a week into us going out.I knew she was the one for me and knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.
A: It's quite hard to say but I think it was after we had spend our first Christmas to together.
How did they propose?
D: Well I proposed a day after our second child Joseph was born whilst they were still in hospital. I secretly changed him into a red baby gro featuring the words "Mummy will you marry my Daddy?" I then spoke the words that I had secretly been rehearsing, basically telling her how much I love her but Abby was too busy listening to our eldest child Harvey talk about his new toy Joseph got him, which meant she hadn't heard a single word I said! I nudged Harvey and said "give it to her then".to which he presented her with the ring and my mum passed me Joseph.
How did you react?
A: I remember thinking why on earth is he putting Joseph in a manchester united baby gro! I honestly had no clue what was going on until Dans mum brought Joseph over! I remember feeling so overwhelmed and over the moon, I don't think I even said yes I just burst into tears!!
What do you think makes you work so well as a couple?
D & A: We both have the same outlook on life & bring the best out of each other! We are also the best of friends.
Bring on a brilliant wedding, I cannot wait hang out with you all again. You're an awesome team :)
